Author:
In this beautiful illustrated book, which no one who has lived in Quebec over the past sixty years (and more!) will want to miss, Richard Z. Sirois tells a little about his life. And what a life! Based on memories related to music, this member of RBO for forty years now recounts what has marked him since he was a child, without pretension, with a lot of humor (serious?) and self-deprecation (we suspected it!). Everything is covered: his parents, his friends, his family, his children, his career. Without modesty, with the sense of self-deprecation for which we are familiar, he generously opens up. Considered one of the greatest rock fans in the Universe, he uses as a basic premise the title of a rock album, the name of an artist, a band or even the mention of a song to recount the funny (or not!) moments of his personal and professional life, from Rock et Belles Oreilles to 100 limite via Les midis fous de CKOI: his first breakup while listening to Supertramp; what he listened to as a tune while his mother smoked pot in the basement or during a first French, which would have fit in the film The Exorcist. Drugs and alcohol, too, while we're at it.
Young and old, no matter who they are or where they come from, will identify with this book. Why? Because EVERYONE has memories connected to songs, records, artists. Everyone has been in love (and experienced the heartbreak that comes with it). Everyone loves music from here or elsewhere. Not as much as Richard Z, perhaps, but almost!
