Montreal's legendary Jailhouse Rock Café (30 Mont Royal Ouest) presented thousands of bands and concerts from 1988 to 2001.

A true Montreal original, Jailhouse co-owner (with his brother David) Domenic Castelli has released a brand-new 2025 franglais version of his 2020 killer compilation of the iconic rock posters that once read up the walls of the Jailhouse.

On an average night Jailhouse usually presents three bands, and one year the Castelli Brothers famously booked 396 shows in 365 days!

Among the many bands that played at Jailhouse were Danko Jones, Guster, Slaves on Dope, Bionic, Ripcordz, Lederhosen Lucil, Moist, Cafeine, Tricky Woo, The Vaginal Croutons, Les Georges Leningrad, Planet Smashers, and Bloodshot Bill & The Hubcaps.

Legendary Montreal music journalist Jamie O'Meara (whose old band Rise also played there) wrote the forward, and I have a blurb on the back cover:

“Domenic Castelli's 16-years-in-the-making Jailhouse Rock Café Book of Shows is an essential document of the legendary Montreal rock venue that helped put the Montreal music scene on the map.”
